Coaching points:

  • Keep the kettlebell tight to your body to avoid injury. You should be able to do a proper clean while facing a wall 12 inches away

  • Keep shins vertical throughout this movement

  • At belly button, loosen your grip to "slide your hand into your glove," allowing kettlebell to rotate around your wrist. This will prevent it banging into your wrist

  • Another cue is to "punch your hand through" at the belly button

  • Racked position should include loose grip on the handle, thumb able to touch collarbone, handle across the lifeline in the palm
